A Homeless Time

I find time very very odd and indifferent

Time has no gender or color constraints

Time has no country nation sovereignty or religion

Time pledges allegiance to no one person place or thing.

Time is raceless languageless and borderless

Time is ruthless and lawless and dances to its own drumbeat.

And yet—time is globally accepted and does not travel with a passport or a visa.

Time accepts no bribes and does not indulge in corruption, greed or bigotry.

Whether I like it or not, time never waits. Time is always on a mission. It does not stand in one spot like The Cotton Tree that papa tells me—I can follow to find the exact location where The Lion and Chief Doloquelle-Paye huts once stood. And to find my way back. Whenever I get lost. Whenever I need to go back—I should walk in the direction of The Cotton Tree. And it will be standing. Big and tall—defying time. As long no human lays their hands on The Cotton Tree in an attempt to cut it down. The Cotton Tree is my time capsule and my time machine.

Oooo how much I envy time, dearly.

Why can’t I be like time?

Time is always on the go and nothing can stop it.

When I close my eyes and count backwards in time, I see time smiling back at me as time races, leaping, counting and clapping forward.

Slow down please, I cry out. I just need more…

but you see, time is evil. and just. at the same time.

Time has no secrets and plays no games.

Time is telling.

I search for meanings and answers

when the response

time after time

always come down

to time.

Your time is up.

But.Wait.

How can my time be up when you—time—is always going?

Don’t you have a limitless time limit?

No. I don’t want to accept.

Give me more time.

I am greedy. My shortfalls. I need more time—with papa. I cried.

I hold your two foot. If you have a foot that looks like mine.

Damnit. You homeless time.

Come on, Stay with me a little longer

But.

Accepted or not—time confines to—no home no race no gender no religion

Time does not obey—greed, bribery or corruption

Time is odd, even, and indifferent

It is the pi of a circumference

It always calculates to the same figure, no matter the size of the pi-e

or how thick or thin the circle of the pie crust is.

Time comes and time goes in circle like the sunrise and the sunsets

Time is homeless.

So, take a break and enjoy every sunrise and every sunsets

because time is constantly—moving.

A Homeless Time.
